Are you ready to dive deeper in to Yogic Philosophy and Energetic Teachings?…
Essence of Yoga: Ethics to Energy is a four‑session journey through the eightfold path, from foundational principles to embodied consciousness. Each 75‑minute class pairs concise yogic philosophy with asana, pranayama, meditation, and subtle‑body practices (mudras, mantras, bandhas).
Expect accessible teaching, progressive sequencing, reflective prompts, and guided practices that translate ancient wisdom into everyday presence: Ideal for students deepening their practice or building tools for conscious living.
Session 1, Roots and Rules: Yama, Niyama, the foundational principles of Yoga
Explore the moral and ethical foundations that make yoga sustainable and meaningful in daily life. This 75‑minute session introduces the yamas and niyamas through short guided discussion and reflective prompts. Asana, basic pranayama, mantra and meditation are interwoven to support the embodiment and understanding of these yogic principles. Expect guided discussion, gentle movement, and a closing meditation to gain insight into the application of these principles in daily life.
Session 2, Body as Temple: Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha
Deepen somatic intelligence with a 75‑minute practice that blends alignment-focused asana with instruction in bandhas and foundational mudras. Learn how subtle energetic locks and gestures change movement quality and presence, with progressive sequencing, hands-on cues for physical alignment, and a restorative practice to integrate the body’s wisdom and intelligence.
Session 3, Prana in Motion: Pranayama, Mantra and Meditation
Cultivate steadiness and clarity in this 75‑minute session centered on breath and mind. We will commence with a balanced asana practice to maximise the effects of pranayama, with minimal strain, followed by accessible pranayama techniques to expand energy (prana) through control of the breath. Experience a guided sound meditation practice that translates breath control into embodied attention.
Session 4, Essence of Yoga: Philosophy to Practice
Weave ethical, physical, and energetic threads in this 75‑minute practice that supports living the yogic path. We will begin with a brief reflective check‑in, before an integrated asana practice that explores alignment, bandhas, and mudras before transitioning into pranayama and mantra to refine pranic flow. Our journey will conclude with an extended guided meditation. Expect concise teaching segments, embodied practice, reflective prompts, and ideas for translating yogic principles off the mat and into daily life.
