April Moon Memo's - Monthly Astrological Outlook with Rachel
April starts off with a Full Moon in Libra ruled by Venus in Taurus on April 2nd. This full moon in Libra may reveal where we feel a pull to negotiate relational agreements that feel out of balance. Libra is interested in what is fair for all, a continual dance of balancing the scales. With Jupiter in Cancer squaring this lunation, what is being magnified for you around how you can no longer pretend that your desires are not being met in connection? What wants to be reconciled between your needs and where you may be attending to other people’s desires over your own?
On April 4, Venus in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius, highlighting hidden tension and desires with our values in relationships, pleasure and creative pursuits. Pluto speaks to the taboo, power struggles and unearthing a deeper honesty to confront in our connections and what we truly value in terms of our resources and what makes us feel secure and not just comfortable.
Be guided to act from your brave heart
Mars enters its fiery home sign of Aries on April 10, initiating a dynamic burst of activity into the part of our charts that contain Aries. Mars in Aries will bring a sort of productive, go-getter energy to get things done efficiently. Momentum starts to pick up and there may be a sense of haste for action and channeling our willpower into overcoming inertia and where things may have felt stagnant. Pay attention to where you are moving from urgency, reactivity and fear instead of a grounded instinct to move when you sense the moment is right for you.
On April 13, Mars meets up with Neptune in Aries, and it feels like we are making our way through a smoky haze. Mars is the planet that acts, defends, protects, and with Neptune the planet that dissolves boundaries, we begin acting with more decisiveness from our ideals, and there can be a sense of being guided by invisible forces - we cannot see what the outcome of what our actions are but still we muster our courage to act anyway. On the same day, Venus in Taurus sextiles Jupiter in Cancer - a harmonious transit that will bring sweet bolstering support, granting us a wider perspective and wisdom to discern what actions are aligned with our values and what's worth our emotional, material and relational resources.
Mercury enters Aries on April 15, bringing a more direct and straightforward tone to our communications, joining the pileup of planets already in Aries. Two days later on 17 April, we have a New Moon in Aries, right next to Chiron, and with Mercury conjoined Neptune. A crack is opening up for us to confront the discomfort it takes to make new moves and show up in new ways. To be brave requires a cutting to the wounded parts of us that would rather stay in the lull of sameness and familiarity, yet to adjust to a new landscape.
In a flurry of heat, remember how you can keep your cool
On 20 April, Mars and Saturn form a conjunction, with Mercury acting as interpreter. This is a particularly heightened moment in April where we are trying to move through resistance, blockades and delays. This can feel frustrating and challenging, like attempting to drive at full speed but simultaneously being restricted in your tracks. This is a window to transmute your impulse to assert yourself and get things done, and give yourself permission to not pressure yourself into oblivion but instead alchemise this resistance into precise and deliberate action.
The Sun enters Taurus on the same day, shifting the solar tone to a slower, sensual and more grounded rhythm. When things gets chaotic, remember that simplicity is key to coming home to yourself, and how the simple pleasures of life is what supports your wellbeing to flourish.
Venus kisses Uranus in Taurus for the last ever time in our lifetimes, marking a wrap up of the Uranus in Taurus cycle that has been transiting our skies since 2018 - which has been an era of shaking up our relationship to our bodies, nervous system, the Earth and material resources. Some of us may notice an innovative disruption or sudden change to our desires, relationship, artistry and how we relate to pleasure. Notice how your tastes and preferences may be shifting. Hours later, Venus moves into Gemini, lending more social curiosity to how we relate, connect and create. Experiment with bringing a more light-hearted and playful energy into your conversations.
Let curiosity lead the way
On 26 April, Uranus enters Gemini, one of the major astrological transits of 2026, noting the final shift of the outer, transpersonal planets into new signs, where it will remain in the sign of Gemini until 2033. Uranus was briefly in Gemini from July 7, 2025 to November 8, 2025. Note what themes were emerging for you then. Uranus, as the planet of sudden awakenings, liberation and disruption against the status quo, in Gemini brings a freshness in ideas, communication, commerce and technology, opening up multiple possibilities on multiple levels. With Venus co-present with Uranus in Gemini towards the end of the month, this is an invitation to be in conversation with ourselves and others around our perception and perspectives. How can we remain open, curious and flexible to new choices that are opening up in our worlds?
