Foundations I: Start Your Yoga Journey with Confidence.

This 8‑week course explores alignment‑based asana, breathwork (pranayama), relaxation and simple meditation practices while introducing core yogic philosophy and spiritual practices to support everyday life.

Who is it for?

Foundations I is perfect for complete beginners, people returning to yoga, or anyone who seeks a solid, safe foundation before joining more advanced yoga courses and classes. No prior experience is required and all equipment is provided; just wear comfortable clothing and bring an open mind.

What to expect?

  • 8 x 90 minute weekly sessions that combine physical practice (asanas), breathwork (pranayama) guided relaxation and introductory meditation techniques interwoven with yogic philosophy.

  • Small class size for personalised guidance and adjustments, so you’ll get the support you need as you progress.

  • Clear instruction with attention to physical and energetic alignment and safe sequencing so you can experience the practices at your own pace.

  • Use of props (blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets) to support postural alignment and to protect joints while you learn correct form.

A little about your teacher

Allison Berry has practised yoga for 25 years and has been teaching since 2007. Introduced to yoga at Gertrude Street Yoga and Healing Centre in Fitzroy in 1999, she was deeply influenced by the teachings of Paul Wooden. Allison’s intuitive approach blends curiosity, compassion and practical wisdom; she shares yoga as a grounded way to meet life’s challenges, cultivating presence of body and mind and an open heart in her students.

Your course includes a complimentary 5-class practice pass so you can gently build confidence by attending suitable classes between weekly sessions. This pass adds $150 additional value to your course fee with a total course value of $470. We will add this pass to your Mindbody account from day 1 of the Foundations course. The pass must be used within the 8 weeks the course runs and cannot be extended, transferred or refunded for cash. Prana House recommends students seek advice from teachers on classes that would suit their experience level.
