About Me

My name is Aoife Kavanagh and I’m Irish, I first got into yoga around 10 years ago, it changed my life for the better without a doubt. I grew up in Ireland and with my Dad living in Nepal I knew that side of the world would resonate. I took my first training in Dharamsala, India. And I have never looked back! It has been an incredible journey so far. I have always wanted to be a yoga teacher but it was when I discovered the philosophy foundation of things, that’s when I knew it was my Dharma.

 

Teaching Style

Meditation in movement, softness in strength, alignment with focus. My style of teaching allows students to step out of the mind and into the body. 

Why do you practice yoga?

For the physical body, there’s simply nothing better! For the emotional body, it has the power to transform your state of being through conscious practice and awareness. For the subtle body it is important to move prana around the body in order to connect to the higher self. To put it simply I practice yoga to welcome the soul home, to connect my inner self.

Yoga is practiced to prepare the body for meditation.

The only way to love what you do is to share it 

Favourite Asana?

Oooh that is a hard one, I have so many! But at the moment, it’s a long held Warrior 2 - Beautiful combination of strength and softness, Suka and Dukha :)
