Qualified Primary School Teacher, Adult Educator and Group Facilitator.
I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years. Yoga and meditation (specifically Yoga Nidra) gives me balance in life. I am an experienced educator having taught in schools and adult training bodies for over 30 years. My other work is a Learning Facilitator, helping people of all ages connect to nature at the Botanic Gardens Melbourne.
I started yoga in my late 20’s practicing Oki Do Yoga and have tried many other styles of yoga since then. My strongest influences come from Hatha, Amrit, Prana and Yin styles of yoga. My Yoga Nidra classes are deeply influenced by Kamini Desai and John Vosler.
My classes are meditative, incorporating breath practice, body awareness and adaptations for all bodies.
Why do you practice yoga?
For health and wellbeing. To unite my body, mind and spirit. Yoga grounds me and helps to reset my adrenals in this crazy, busy world we live in.
Why do you teach?
I teach what I love!
Ever job I’ve been in since I left University, over 30 years ago, has involved teaching or facilitating groups in some way.
Sleeping Swan (a supported Yin version of pidgeon). I love the external rotation in the hip and that it works on the liver, kidney and spleen meridians.
