Moon Memos - Monthly Astrological Outlook with Rachel
After a big month in February with the historical conjunction of Saturn-Neptune at 0° Aries, the erosion of a known future and bringing form to a new dream, we enter March 2026 in the midst of Pisces and eclipse season, with Mercury already retrograde in Pisces, revisiting unresolved stories requesting a revisit and re-working.
GIVING UP THE ‘PERFECT’ PLAN
On March 3, we experience a total lunar eclipse in Virgo. This lunar eclipse is part of the Virgo-Pisces eclipse storyline that began in September 2024 and continued in March and September of 2025. Note what themes and threads began for you then and what is re-emerging now.
This lunar eclipse in Virgo is asking us what is ready to be digested, processed, and released. Mars in Pisces opposes this lunar eclipse, which can be draining on the body and may bring heightened sensitivity, emotional reactivity or irritability. Where possible - do less, reduce external stimulation and replenish yourself with soothing activities as this eclipse may feel exhausting and uncomfortable.
Virgo is interested in the pursuit of perfection, and this lunar eclipse is inviting you to let go of the idea of doing everything perfectly. Make space for what is ready to be flushed out of your life. What if perfection is simply a moving aim that you get to change at any time? Stop chasing impossible standards of perfection. Sometimes good enough for now is perfect.
INTUITIVE GUIDANCE AS YOUR GPS
Mercury enters the heart of the Sun in Pisces on March 7, known as a ‘cazimi’, a purifying moment. Venus also conjuncts Neptune in Aries. This is a doorway into reflection and processing your feelings. This can be a creative and imaginative time for research and engaging in creative practices that help you drop into non-linear flow states. Pay attention to your dreams, synchronicities and revelations bubbling up from your subconscious. Notice what your intuition is nudging you towards. Journal about what is beginning to clarify about what feels possible beyond what you currently see in your reality.
Jupiter, the planet of meaning and wisdom, stations direct in Cancer on March 11, bringing a renewed sense of optimism, support and coherence. Jupiter offers buoyancy and trust that maybe things are going to work out. Even in the midst of everything you are experiencing this month, count your blessings. Notice what is working well and where there is already ease.
On March 14, Mars conjoins the North Node in Pisces before meeting up with Mercury on March 15. Things might feel pokey with simmering frustrations so choose your words intentionally. Be conscious about not getting pulled into verbal fights that will ultimately be depleting on your energy and time. Instead, see where you can communicate your truth even when you feel scared or advocate for a cause close to your heart.
Things may go awry with technology, transport, communication and commerce - so bring extra mindfulness and be patient with yourself and others when things do not go according to plan. Stay open to possible delays, detours or breakdowns. Grant yourself extra buffer time to transition between tasks and places.
MOVING FORTH WITH AUDACITY
We officially close out eclipse season on the New Moon in Pisces on March 19. This New Moon is a seeding moment for new dreams you are now devoting yourself to. You had to clear space and close a chapter, generating a sense of new possibilities and hope for what changes you’re ready to make.
The Sun moves into Aries on the autumn equinox on March 21, signifying the beginning of the astrological new year. Mercury stations direct just a few hours later, and we are still reviewing what has arisen in the past few weeks, slowly integrating the intuitive insights we received.
On March 22, Mars in Pisces trines Jupiter in Cancer, which is an uplifting, inspiring transit for pursuing what we want, making decisive choices and using our energy productively. The Sun in Aries then conjoins Neptune later that day, which illuminates a feeling of becoming more empowered to move forward with your dreams and becoming the hero of your own life.
Saturn enters the heart of the Sun in Aries on March 25 for a Saturn cazimi, highlighting how we are facing our fears around audaciously taking risks to birth our dreams despite the hard effort, despite struggles and difficulties that may lie ahead, despite not feeling completely ready. This is a moment to consider what structures and systems can be implemented to scaffold and support what you are implementing in the long-term.
At the end of the month on March 31, Venus returns to her home sign of Taurus, which brings a steady, sensual and grounded energy, welcoming a slower rhythm back into our lives. Venus in Taurus wants to smell each flower you walk past, Venus in Taurus wants you to really enjoy what you’re eating right now, Venus in Taurus wants you to luxuriate in what feels enjoyable in the present moment. Stop running for a minute to prioritise your pleasure, and pause to simply cherish what is here now.
