Julie Gargano is the
founding director that holds the vision behind Prana House. She is inspired by
creating a sanctuary for weary bodies & souls to revitalize, re-inspire and
rekindle the Divine spark within. Creating beauty is her passion and as beauty
is a Divine quality, being surrounded by it evokes those same qualities that
lay within us.
Julie has an extensive
background in the areas of body, mind and spirit. Her initial training as a
classical ballet dancer from the age of six, led her to teach and perform
professionally and practice as a certified ballet teacher for many years.
Through injury, she diverted her love for the arts to the fulltime study and
performing of music on the violin.
Julie's experience in
yoga spans over sixteen years, with her initial training in the Iyengar
tradition and this forms a solid grounding to her approach to yoga
postures. Her classes encourage an
opening of heart, an expansion of body, a silencing of mind, an awakening to
the fullness of each breath and an opening to Grace. It becomes the experience
of marrying the external form, with the internal formless; the bliss of Being.
Julie's training in
yoga has taken her overseas with study in India
and the USA,
training directly with Yogi Amrit Desai, the internationally renowned yoga
master, where she obtained certification as an Amrit Yoga Teacher. She is the
first to bring Amrit Yoga back to Australia
to share and Prana House is the first yoga studio in Australia to offer Amrit Yoga.
Julie has also trained
in Arhatic Yoga and Pranic Healing and various healing modalities, which brings
great depth, richness and integrity to her teaching. Julie believes that with
spiritual connection, the impossible becomes possible.
